Understanding the switch from cigarettes to e-cigarettes

Understanding the switch from cigarettes to e-cigarettes

Hi everyone, how are you all today? It's Chloe here from My Vape Box.

If you're looking to make the switch over to vaping from traditional cigarettes, first of all, great choice because vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking a cigarette! But vaping is different to smoking cigarettes and there might be a few things that you might not expect when you first try. Today I’m writing about a few of those things so hopefully you know what to expect.

OK, so let's just jump right into it. If you are currently a smoker there are many different reasons why you should make the switch over to e-cigarettes, the main one for me being because there's no burning of tobacco when it comes to e-cigarettes so there's no harmful chemicals being created. But this is just one of many different reasons why you might want to make the switch over to vaping.
In this blog I’m going to be talking about some things that you might not expect when you start vaping, so first things first, we’re going to talk about the transition into vaping.

How long does the switch to e-cigarettes take?

Many people expect an instant transition from smoking traditional cigarettes over to vaping and they also expect to be able to put down their pack cigarettes right away and never go back. However, for some people the transition isn't so perfect. For example, when I was first trying to make the transition over between smoking and vaping it actually took me a few weeks. I kept alternating between smoking and vaping but after a couple weeks I notice that I was naturally gravitated more towards vaping so I just kept up with it. My usual routine was whenever I was going out for a smoke break, sometimes I just go out for a vape instead. I kept up with that routine and over a few weeks I found I was vaping more. So stick with it and don’t give up on vaping immediately, it does take time to completely switch!
Take this with a pinch of salt, because everybody's experience will be different. I know some people that have instantly switched over to vaping seamlessly and other people have a bit of a harder time.

One thing I will mention is to not get discouraged if you find that you're having a hard time switching over to vaping. Vaping definitely has a learning curve and there's a few things that you need to learn when you start vaping however once you get the hang of it it's actually very simple. I found that after a week or 2 of just using my e-cigarette vaping device I was filling up my tank, changing my coil and other things was almost like second nature. (And don’t forget we have plenty of beginner blogs to help you start and understand vaping – or you can email me with your questions are help@myvapebox.co.uk if you ever need to!)

Your body and sense will quickly start to change!

Next up I want to talk about changes to your body that you might notice when you starting vaping. When you first make the switch over to vaping you're going to notice some subtle changes in your body like a better sense of taste and smell, better lung performance and many more. The most notable for me personally was that I was really able to taste my favourite food again and I was able to walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breathe!

Some people can also experience a cough in the early stages/first few weeks of vaping. That's nothing to worry about and isn’t caused by the vaping. It’s just your body trying to get rid of all the gunk (tobacco and tar) that cigarettes have left behind in our body. This is completely normal and it should go away on its own.

And you'll save loads of money...

And last up on the list… is a fuller wallet! Vaping on the surface does seem like it could be a lot more expensive than smoking because the device cost can range anywhere from £25 to £100 depending on the device you go with. However this is just the upfront cost for the device and vaping is definitely a lot cheaper than smoking and so will save you tonnes and tonnes of money in the long run!
Before I finish, I’d like to ask you, are there any other unexpected things that you've experienced when you first started vaping? If so, leave them in the comments section down below.

So I hope this blog has helped you out to understand what to expect if you're making the switch from smoking cigarettes to vaping e-cigarettes. If you have any further questions, if you're confused about any, please write in the comments section below or email me and I will help you out as much as I can.

Also I'd love this blog to help as many people as possible with their switch so please share it. There are a couple of ways that you can help me with that. One would be to share this blog through your social media. That really does help us out :)

So thank you so much for reading.
